GROUCH & GROUCH IN DUB // Shanti Planti Records // -NEW ZEALAND-

Grouch encompasses the audible tales of New Zealand born producer Oscar Allison. Born and raised in the breathtaking surrounds of Aotearoa/New Zealand, the incredible backdrop infused and ignited a passion for dub and ethnic percussion that would later form a pivotal basis in his electronic foray.

One could not foresee that a young adult experimenting with electronic music in the late 90’s would later become a globetrotting artist. The story of Grouch starts with a young teen testing the waters of Dub, Hip Hop, and Drum and Bass; before discovering a passion for more psychedelic oriented sound.

Ever evolving in his quest for the perfect squelch, or the dirtiest skank, Oscar has spent a lifetime experimenting and developing sounds which bend the structures of electronic genre’s, all of them encompassing an original and unmistakable essence.

His passion and production, have delivered him to some of the largest crowds at festivals such as Burning man, Oregon Eclipse Festival, Boom festival, Ozora, Rainbow Serpent, Earthcore, Universo Paralello, and countless other shows all across 5 continents of the globe.

KHALIL.M // Shanti Planti Records // -MONTREAL-

Messenger of frequencies and avid beat smuggler, Khalil is a regular face behind the decks within the Montreal psychedelic psybass/glitch scene – he has already taken part in the European and North American transformational festival circuit – playing such gatherings as Solstice Festival (Holland), Eclipse Festival (CA), OZORA Festival, Solar.United.Natives in Hungary, Lost Theory and Mo:Dem Festival.

Khalil’s set will take you from the Orient to the Gypsy swamp, the lands of dripping mid-tempo bass and 21st century progressive psychedelic textures.

Totemic's music ranges from dark, dangerous and moody to uplifting and melodic. Diving deep into the methods of sonic subterranean messaging, translating bio-logical thought processes acoustically, conveying feelings transmitted into time and space through music. Pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a DJ performance with an energetic and sensual style, combining live violin with fast paced mixes that fill the dance floor with reckless abandon. He effortlessly melds his original productions with liquid, minimal and aggressive drum and bass.

Totemic has performed at some of the most respected festivals in Eastern Canada including Harvest, All Stars and Solstice, as well as sharing stages with the likes of Ivy Lab and Technimatic. With releases on Street Ritual (US) and Rogue Beatz (UK) as well as a plethora of independent releases, his music and mixes are being played by DJs and streamed around the world.

Oglob makes and plays music that encompasses a range of genres — making it difficult to define. With their wild live shows, they bring a feral energy to every dance floor that they tap into. When Oglob performs, all bets are off.

“I am a mixed media artist working with fantastical, surrealist, science fiction and psychedelic concepts. I adore the use of narratives within my work. My inspiration when starting a piece often arises from a desire for pretending and story telling. The stories I create are based on my personal journeys of survival and navigation on planet Earth but, the imagery and colours are out of this world. My works frequently play with the ideas of adulthood vs childhood and the travels in-between and back and forth.

Hailing from Montreal, I will be bringing large colouring book pages with original designs for everyone to relax and colour as you experience the evening. I will also have stickers, shirts and more to purchase if your heart so desires.”
