Investment Society's annual flagship event, the University of Toronto Finance Conference, is back! On February 11th and 13th, you and your team will have the opportunity to participate in a stimulating case competition and network with industry leaders.
On February 11th, at the University of Toronto Scarborough (IC building), participants will compete in teams of 2 and present to a panel of judges a solution to a business case based on real-world challenges in the finance industry.
The first round of the competition will have a stock pitch round. Competitors will be given a stock & tasked with creating a pitch for it (buy or don't buy). In the second round, competitors will be given a case which they have to analyze and create a solution for. Both rounds will involve presentations to judges.
This year, $1500 worth of prizes will be awarded to teams with the teamwork, creativity, and analytical skills to create the best solution. The first place team can win up to $900!
On February 13th, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, we will invite professionals with experiences in Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, Asset Management, and other finance fields to meet our delegates and share their knowledge and expertise. Students will have the opportunity to listen to a keynote speech. In the past, we have had representatives from CIBC, Scotiabank, Deloitte, and other amazing companies!
This year's keynote speech will be given by Razmig Boghossian, Executive Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Deloitte Canada (https://linkedin.com/in/razmig-boghossian-cpa-ca-cfa-1515452/
